Jasmine Carter led all scorers with 21 points as the Lady Panthers downed Livingstone College 69-56 on Monday, February 10, in Salisbury, N.C.

Carter hit 10 of 15 shots from the field en route to her second highest point total of the season.

Ifunanya Okoye recorded her fourth double-double of the season by scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. All of Okoye's rebounds were defensive rebounds.

"We played an average first half as the score was tied 24-24, but we came out swinging in the second half, hitting six straight points from Iffy Okoye to push the victory to 69-56," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach

Jasmine Carter who finished well around the rim ending with 21 points, seven rebounds. Iffy Okoye's offense to start the second half was critical as she poured in 17 points, 13 rebounds, two assists. and one steal.
Shameka McNeill also chipped in 17 points, five rebounds. four assists, and two steals.
Peyton Evans added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal. We out rebounded Livingstone 45-32, shot 46% from the field, and shot 82% from the free throw line. Our second half play was something to be proud of. Now we just need to put two solid halves together to improve our chances for success down the stretch."

Virginia Union is currently third in the Northern Division of the CIAA behind Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and Bowie State University.

Virginia Union now returns home to face Lincoln University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
