Nicole Floyd grabbed 15 rebounds as the Lady Panthers downed Bluefield State College 74-58 on the first day of the WSSU Red-White Classic on Friday, November 30, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
VUU's
Rejoice Spivey added 19 points while
Jasmine Carter recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
The key to the game was the Lady Panthers' inside game and defense. 50 of VUU's 74 points came in the paint while Virginia Union scored 31 points off turnovers.
The Lady Panthers are now 7-0, marking the third time in four years where VUU has won the first seven games of the season.
Virginia Union will meet Benedict College on the second day of the WSSU Red-White Classic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
