Jussie York with 0.9 seconds left in the game to give VUU a 27-26 win over Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, September 27, in Charlotte, N.C.
VUU had trailed 26-15 with 6:30 left in the game before Graham engineered two scoring drives, hitting
Donte Gross with the 38-yard touchdown pass with 3:19 left in the game and then with the stunner to York as time expired.
Johnson C. Smith had gotten on the board first with a safety in the first quarter, but VUU evened the score with a safety of its own in the second quarter.
VUU got on the board again in the second quarter when quarterback
Shawheem Dowdy hit York with a 34-yard touchdown pass.
Graham tossed a 54-yard bomb to Gross as the fourth quarter began before gearing up for the Panthers' most dramatic win in decades.
Graham connected on 12 of 16 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
Gross had 149 yards on five catches while York had 109 yards on six receptions. Â Gross and York had two touchdowns apiece.
VUU's
Troy Krepich unleashed a 75-yard punt against the Golden Bulls, the second longest punt in VUU football history. Â Inman Breaux had an 80-yard punt for the Panthers in 1927.

Joseph Blanks had 10 tackles in the game, including five solo take-downs.
The win raised VUU's record to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in CIAA play. Â Johnson C. Smith dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now returns to Historic Hovey Field to take on Shaw University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, in Richmond, Va.
