Box Score Virginia Union University's Shawheem Dowdy threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns, but Shaw University outlasted  VUU 33-21 on Saturday, September 14, in Historic Hovey Field in Richmond, Va.

Dowdy completed 21 of 34 passes in the game.

VUU's Jamaal Wright caught eight of Dowdy's passes for 73 yards.  VUU's Matias Parker and Wyman Powell each caught a touchdown strike.

Virginia Union's Willie Bailey led the Panthers with 13 tackles.

The loss drops VUU to 0-2 on the season while Shaw is now 2-0.

VUU now faces Fayetteville State University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, in Hovey Field in Richmond, Va.
