Virginia Union University head football coach Michael Bailey unveiled the 2011 Panther football team during the annual Media Day, held on August 11 at Hovey Field in Richmond, Va.

The entire team wore their road game uniforms for the first time, and had their individual photos and official 2011 team photo taken.

All three local television stations, as well as reporters from the Richmond Free Press and Richmond Times-Dispatch were on hand to interview players and coaches.  Coach Bailey was featured live on the Jack Gravely Show on WLEE AM 990 during the event.

Charmica Epps of the the Virginia Union University Department of University Relations interviewed newcomer Paul Jones for the Unionite Magazine.  Jones, a punter, is the first Australian player in the history of VUU football.

Virginia Union kicks off the 2011 football season against Saint Augustine's College at 6:00 p.m. in Hovey Field on August 27.
