1985 Men's Team, Six Others to Be Honored on February 2

The Virginia Union University Round Ball Club will honor the 1985 VUU Men's Team as well as six past greats of Panther Basketball on February 2, 2013.

The 1985 men's basketball team finished the regular season undefeated and still holds the VUU record for highest winning percentage with a final record of 31-1 (a winning percentage of 96.9%).

The 1985 team was led by future NBA star Charles Oakley, who averaged 24.0 points and 17.3 rebounds per game.  Oakley was joined by teammate Jamie Waller, who averaged 20.8 points per game and Greg Williams, who averaged 10.5 points per game.

Oakley scored a season-high 43 points against Elizabeth City State University on January 6, 1985, and pulled down a season-high 17 rebounds against Virginia State College on December 22, 1984, for the Panthers.
