Wooten Collier was a part of two CIAA Championship teams in 1981 and 1982. The following year, she led the Lady Panthers to a NCAA Division II National Championship.
In 1997, Wooten Collier continued her basketball career in the ABL (American Basketball League) with the Philadelphia Rage. She was later picked up by the Maryland Sparks in the Washington Basketball League (WBL) in Largo, Maryland. Wooten Collier averaged 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. She would rank #1 in rebounding.
Barvenia brings her coaching experience to Virginia Union from Prince George's Community College. There, she racked up many championships including the NJCAA Division II Region XX Women's Basketball Championship.
Wooten Collier says she is “excited and enthused about the opportunity to enhance the women's basketball program by creating an environment that will empower and inspire her players to perform excellence on and off the court!”
