HAMPTON, VA-Freshman
Lavonna Spencer was named to the 2010 CIAA Basketball All-Rookie Team, as announced by the CIAA Sports Information Directors' Association. Spencer is the first Lady Panther to earn this distinction in the past eight years.
A native of Hampton, VA (Bethel High HS), Spencer is ranked first on the team in three-point field goals made and ranked sixth in league three-point percentage overall. During the season, she also led the Panthers in single-game assists nine times this season.
Her season numbers include 151 points, 35 assists and 52 rebounds.
The CIAA Men's and Women's All-Rookie Basketball teams will be honored at the tipoff luncheon in Charlotte, NC at next week's CIAA Basketball Tournament.
