We are in our second year of The Gridiron Club at Virginia Union University and we need your help to make it successful. The purpose of this club is to honor the great teams and players of the past, as well as to help Coach Michael Bailey and his staff to put Virginia Union University football back on the map. To win at the National level, we need your financial support in order to help level the playing field.  The teams that win at the highest level have far more scholarships than we have.  If we pool our resources we can help close this financial gap, which would greatly enhance our chances of winning a national championship.  This past year we were 6-4 and definitely headed in the right direction of becoming a national power. 

Where would we all be without Virginia Union University? All of our successes would not have been possible without the influence and opportunities this university has afforded us. Recognizing VUU's rich football history is long overdue. Joining the Gridiron Club will help keep our strong football tradition alive as well as helping financially.  We have had so many great players in the past that it will take time to honor all of them.  We are pleased that our next group of honorees will be introduced during Homecoming, on October 16, 2010. We will honor a different group each year until all the great players have been thanked for their tremendous contribution to the University.

Membership to the gridiron club will consist of former players and friends of Virginia Union University football who are concerned about the future direction of the football program. The names of those who join will be listed on the VUU athletics web page so all can see those who are participating.  Please give as generously as you possibly can and keep in mind that your gift is fully tax deductible.  We are hoping for 100% participation from all former players, and I can assure you that your gift will be exclusively to enhance football at VUU.
